It’s time for another Feel Good Friday! We love when donors stop by and share their story about how they’re supporting the IWK. Thanks to Chantelle’s generosity, she is helping make miracles happen at the IWK Health Centre.
Hello my name is Chantelle MacBurnie, I am 12 years old. The first time I donated money to the IWK was in 2009. I was planning a party for my 10th birthday. I already had lots of toys in my room and lots of games to play so I decided I would ask my friends to bring donation money instead of gifts. I was thinking about kids in the hospital and I decided it would be nice to give the donation money to the IWK for research. I would like to see a cure for cancer.
Just this summer, my friend Madeleine Morris and I took a business class at Saint Mary’s Mini University camp. As part of this class we had to create a business. We sold things like homemade cards, lemonade, limeade and we painted nails. We decided to donate all the money we made to the IWK. We hope that someday there is a cure.
I encourage other kids to find a fun way to raise money for the IWK.
